"You have a herculean task ahead of you, Ijesa mining affairs politisiced." Oba Aromolaran tells Ijesa Mineral Resources Development Forum members

The members of Ijesa Mineral Resources Development Forum (IMRDF) on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 made an official presentation of the forum to Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LLD, Paramount ruler of Ijesaland and some of his chiefs at a ceremony well attended by Media Houses.

Oba Aromolaran who while addressing the gathering said that he had earlier suggested that Osun government should ban gold mining in Ijesaland so as to give room for a workable strategy. He also narrated how late S. O. Babalola mined gold in Ijesaland for fifteen years before his death and that it is his gold mining enterprise that has metamorphosed into Segilola Exploration Limited as he charged the IMRDF to investigate the financial status of the Company at the stock market so as not to run into difficulty.

"The politicians have infiltrated and bastardized Ijesaland gold mining activity and one should be cautious of the type of collaboration to enter into with them." Oba Aromolaran warned.

Earlier in his presentation of members of the forum to Kabiyesi, Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, the IMRDF Chairman, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi said that the team is made up of eminent and illustrious Ijesa women and men of integrity who have excelled in their respective professions.

The implementation of the forum's strategy plans include visitation to the mining sites, engagement of all stakeholders, starting with Ijesa communities, then the the registered miners. the Osun State Government, the Legislative Arm and all relevant Federal Government Agencies.

"Nothing good comes easy.....the journey ahead may likely be rougher but the IMRDF is prepared to weather the storm. All that we request is the prayer and support of the people as well as cooperation of all stakeholders." Asiwaju Fasuyi said.
