COVID-19: IJESA SPORTS CLUB, ILESA, DISTRIBUTES PALLIATIVES






The Ijesa Sports Club has distributed palliative items to some physically challenged persons and some people considered to be vulnerable in Ilesa.

The items, which were donated yesterday, Thursday 6th August, 2020, were part of efforts to show support to the communities located around the Club's House Complex and to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world since its outbreak some vulnerable aged members and some workers that depend on the activities of the Club for survival.


According to Kakakioodua.com reports, the donated items included customized face masks,  various sum of cash in envelops for the vulnerable ones and washing machines, stabilizer, herbicides and sprayers for the use Ilesa School for Children with Special Needs that shares fence with the Club House. 


In his speech at the presentation of the items, the President of the club, Chief Idowu Korede said the Club members decided to offer the gesture to support the people who were one of the less privileged groups in the society. He said the Club's action was borne out of its philosophy of engaging in profitable service to humanity and that they saw the need to help a section of the community who may have been incapacitated because of the situation occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Korede who emphasized that the coronavirus is real also advised the gathering to always wash their hands with water and soap; use sanitizer, practice social distancing and visit the hospital whenever they or their children feel sick, as well as report any suspected case of COVID-19 to the hospital or appropriate authority.



Hon. Wale Adedoyin a member of Osun House of Assembly representing Ilesa West State Constituency presented the items for the School for Children with Special Needs, Ilesa.

Ijesa Sports Club occupies a prestigious and enviable position in Ijesaland. The Club is affliated to many Clubs in Nigeria and these include, Osogbo Sports Club, Kano Club, Ikeja Club, Lagos Country Club, Ibadan Recreation Club, Lokoja Club etc. The Club currently has on the roll about 700 men and women of repute.
