PHOTOS/VIDEOS: Anfaani's Mom Buried In Grand Style






The burial ceremony of Mama Rebecca Abosede Adebolarin Akintola (JP) a.k.a Iya Oloole, the mother of one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Mr. Akinyele Akintola (a.k.a. Anfaani 4 All), has come and gone but the memory will linger for a long time in the mind of those that witnessed the events.



The 3-day ceremony started on Wednesday, 15th October, 2020, a day set aside for preparation and serving of bean pudding locally known as "olele"  or "oole" in Ijesa dialect as Mama Rebecca Akintola (Mama Oloole) was a renown businesswoman, seller of "moi-moi' and foodstuffs. Present at the ceremony that took place at the Sawe Chieftaincy House, Ijamo street, Ilesa were live bands that included adamo Ijesa music presented by Akanbi Aliu and agidigbo music presented by Baba Lololele.







The local Ijesa people's burial traditional was relived on Friday, !6th of October, 2020 when the women of Ijamo danced round the street, the old way of announcing the commencement of the burial rites. The children and the family later went in a convoy to the Wesley Guild Hospital's motuary to pick up the body of the deceased. The journey from Ijofi Wesley Hospital to Ijamo was a memorable funfair. Her remains were later laid in state at the Sawe Chieftaincy House.

At a service of songs conducted in her honor by the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, people testified that Mama Rebecca Akintola had sincere and uncommon love for God and humanity. The cleric said he was convinced that God called the deceased home at her prime age because she had done well and needed to rest in the bosom of her Lord.








The high point of the events was the burial proper, which started with a funeral service at the Sawe Chieftain compound of Ijamo Ilesa. in attendance included Chief Akin Akinola, The Sawe of Ilesa, Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, politicians and many other dignitaries.

After the church service, the body of mama in a mahogany wooden casket was taken in Mercedes Benz SL350 hearse to the residence of Leader Akintola Akinyele's Okutuope, Ilesa residence for internment.

After the interment, family, friends, well wishers and invited guests were at the Holy Chapel of Love Cherubim and seraphim Church for the outing and thanksgiving service.

Later in the day, guests were entertained at a lavish party held at the playground of Osun College of Health Technology, Imelu, Ilesa. On the band stand was Meastro Seyi Michael from lagos.

In an interview many of the dignitaries testified that Mama Oloole was a role model and a true chritstian in all standard.
