The Ijesa Mineral Resources Development Forum (IMRDF) has submitted the Executive summary of its advocacy activities to His Excellency Alhj. Adegboyega Oyetola. The members of the Non-governmental community initiative led by its Chairman, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi were received by Dr. Charles Akinola, the Chief of Staff to the governor in his Oke-fia official residence on Tuesday, 8th December, 2020.
IMRDF members that accompanied Asiwaju Fasuyi included Mr. Supo Shadiya, Dr. Adigun Adewoye, Mrs. Dupe Ajayi Gbadebo, Mr. Wale Idowu and Hon. Femi Kujembola later made a courtesy call on Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, the Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly where issues based on mining, peace and the overall development of Ijesaland were discussed.
Members of the forum comprising of 16 high profile Ijesa Patriots in strategic fields of human endeavors have embarked on stakeholders engagement across the 6 Local Government Areas of Ijesaland from September 14-19, 2020. The outcome of the visitation which was revealing on the state of despoliation, farm displacements and social dislocations in the mining communities made content of the summary of their activities.

"The various mining sites with the exception of Iperindo, Odo and Imogbara which are managed by Segilola Exploration Ltd, all others suffer huge environmental and health hazards which consequences include but not limited to destruction of farmlands, insecurity, social malaise and avoidable deaths." Asiwaju Fasuyi lamented as he presented the finding of the forum.
