PHOTOS: Afolabi Igbaroola's Mother Buried in Ilesa






The remains of Mama Marian Adejube Igbaroola, mother of Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, a seasoned Chattered Accountant based in Ilesa were on Saturday, 12th December, 2020, buried in Ilesa, Osun State.




Mama Marian Adejube Igbaroola, aged 89, was born on 25th January, 1931 to late Chief Gabriel Adegbite Abanikanda. her father was a very prosperous businessman while her mother was also a rich textile dealer based in Adeti, Ilesa. Her farher was the Esira of Odo Esira, Ilesa. She was the eldest daughter of Baba Esira Abanikanda.


Mama opened her own shop after completing her apprenticeship with her mother. She was a successful textile dealer at Adeti since 1952. She was a loving wife and family woman. She lived a happy and fulfilled life. She peacefully lived with all other wives and family and she served as a guidance and mother to all the children after the death of baba Igbaroola and other wives.


She died on 27th September, 2020.




 Chief Afolabi Igbaroola who spoke about his mother at the commemorative service in an emotion-laden eulogy described her as a caring mother. "My mother, I will forever miss your roles in my life. you brought us up in disciplined environment and made us to believe that it only in closeness to the Lord Almighty and hard work that we can succeed in life.




"She was an exceptional mother. She was full of love and full of live. She was always in her shop till the period of her death. She was a selfless woman. I am going to miss her love, counsel and daily prayers. May God grant her eternal rest." Afolabi Igbaroola said.


                                  


In his sermon at the funeral service, the Bishop of the Diocese of Ilesa, Church of Nigeria(Anglican Communion), Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa, The Rt. Rev'd S. A. Egbebunmi extolled the virttues of the late Mama Marian Igbaroola, describing her as a prayerful and devout Christian even in her old age. He described her demise as a glorious exit of a woman of substance.







After the internment at the cemetery of the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa, invited guests were entertained at a reception party held at the newly opened SAMBEATZ ARENA, Ilesa with the juju music maestro, Chief Ebenezer Obey in attendance. 

Many eminent personalities, business moguls, politicians, socialites etc. attended.
