IFE TRANSPARENCY GROUP EXONERATE IFE CENTRAL LG CHAIRMAN.

The Ifè Transparency Group (I.T.G), a body of credible indigenes of the ancient city of Ile-Ife, has faulted the petition written against Ife Central Local Government Chairman, Hon. Elugbaju Olayera  by a factional group of the All Progressives Congress.

The APC faction had alleged the chairman, of corruption in a petition with the title, ‘’Monumental fraud at Ife Central’’ but the ITG had since kicked against this unfounded allegations.

The faction alleged that, the Chairman sold a parcel of land, opposite the popular Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School to a company (names withheld).

However, in its investigations, the Ife Transparency Group found out that, the allegation was baseless, misconstrued and an attempt to smear the image of the performing Chairman and its administration by the aggrieved party members.

Ife Transparency Group, which is made up of credible sons and daughters of Ife will not tolerate corruption, and will not also tolerate any plan by any group of people to dent the image of a hardworking leader of Elugbaju’s status.

“Since the Allegation titled ‘’Monumental fraud at Ife Central’’ hit the social media a couple of days ago, the Group embarked on Facts Finding, rather than castigating the petitioners under the aegis of concerned APC in Ile-Ife.

We authoritatively found out, that the parcel of land opposite Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School alleged to have been sold by the administration of Elugbaju was actually allocated to a company by His Imperial Majesty,Ooni Adéyeyè Eniitan Ogunwusi for Community Development.

More so, the parcel of land beside Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School was unlawfully sold by some “Land Grabbers” purposely acting as representatives of Alasa Family, who are now on the run to evade the action for Recovery of the said land which Hon. ‘Yera Elugbaju put in place,” the statement read.

According to the statement by the ITG, the Council Manager is a Civil servant and an employee of Osun State Local Government Service Commission, who cannot but report at whatever Local Government she is posted in Osun State.

The statement clarified that Hon. Yera Elugbaju who was elected a Councilor for Iremo Ward III and subsequently, as Chairman for Ife Central Local Government Area, had never been alleged of any corrupt practice and that no single petition was filed against him.

He was never invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and ICPC, neither has he ever been invited by the Department of State Service.

On the inferno that happened at “Oja Titun” where many traders lost their properties and money, the statement noted that investigation was still going on to avert future recurrence.

“As a matter of fact, Hon Olayera Elugbaju has successfully secured the support of the Central Bank of Nigeria in collaboration with Governor Adegboyega Oyetola  to rebuild and uplift the standard of the market, which will commence very soon.

Thus, we are calling on all Ife residents, to debunk such unfounded allegation by petitioners under the pseudonym of concerned APC in Ile-Ife.

This group comprises of scores of detractors, whose intention is to smear the image of Hon. Yera Elugbaju. Their trademark is to destroy and distract the attention of the man of the people as Chairman popularly nicknamed “YERA IS OK’’.

Our Group did not see a single document in support of the allegation against the Chairman, and unanimously kick against this allegation as it is baselessness, mischievous and malicious against the administration.
