STRATEGIC PARTICIPATION IN THE 2021 IJESA HEALTH IS WEALTH PROJECT: IJESA BUILDS N500M GERIATRIC CENTRE .... By Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi

Monday 1st March, 2021 marks the end of transition from Project Conceptualisation to the beginning of our landmark journey to Project Implementation Phase as the combined Teams of Project Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) and Project Management Team (PMT) finalised a three-week long meeting with the Consulting Architect to arrive at best-practice medical infrastructures for IJESALAND GERIATRIC CENTRE.

I can confidently affirm that with all our collective support, we would deliver THE SECOND GERIATRIC CENTRE IN NIGERIA AT IJESALAND.

The meeting further went ahead to review the cost templates for achieving this landmark project, based on both Quantity Surveyor and Consulting Architect guidelines. Find below the new cost breakdown:

1. Building Infrastructure

N300,000,000

2. Medical Equipment

N150,000,000

3. Furnishing and Fittings

N50,000,000

TOTAL: N500,000,000:00

NOTE

The Director of the first and only Geriatric Centre in Nigeria, Chief Tony Anenih Geriatric Centre, UCH Ibadan, Professor Femi Olowookere was also in attendance in all the meetings and was able to guide us on the equipment requirements and costs to arrive at the estimate quoted above on equipment.

The COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the entire world without exception has reminded us all that there's no amount of resources sacrifice we commit on health that be too much, in as much as such investment is prudently justified.

Ijesas being highly resourceful, urbane, enlightened, and exposed set of people cannot afford to toy with their valued lives where strategic and important investments such as health is lacking and missing.

How often do we ask ourselves this pertinent question of where could I go to in Ijesaland today to seek for medical help, should in case emergency medical need arises in any of your visits to home. Or, are we less concerned about the health care of our elderly and aged parents, uncles, aunties, brothers, and sisters who had at one time or the other been there for us.

The PMT, PMEC, and PTAC have on your behalf resolved that there's no looking back as all hands are being put on deck to ensure that this Ijesaland Geriatric Centre becomes a reality.

To earn such honour, the individuals, families, Clubs, and Corporate Bodies, would pay a sum of N20,000,000 (Twenty Million Naira) only each.

Aside from the eight buildings available for Platinum Partners, we also have the internal road within  the Centre available to any interested parties to be honoured with for a payment of N10,000,000.

Last but not the least, is the beautiful landscape in the front of the Centre's Out Patients Building in which we would be glad to honour any interested parties with a payment of N10,000,000.

We are trusting that we would all rally round to make this a legacy project for Ijesaland in particular and Nigeria in general.

In the coming days, we shall begin to attend to the preliminaries, preparatory to the full commencement of the Project.

Meanwhile, we would like to enjoin all to share this information with all stakeholders in Ijesaland who are committed to the development of Ijesaland to wake up and participate in this clarion call to collectively uplift Ijesaland.
