A jubilant middle-aged man named Sunday has mistakenly shot himself while celebrating the emergence of candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke, as Osun Governor-elect.
Newsmen gathered Sunday, who lived at Iraye junction of Ile-Ife, was over joyous while he was with friends around his compound to celebrate emergence of Adeleke.
A source said: “Sunday went into his house to pick his gun which was loaded. He was attempting to fire a shot to the sky when he shot himself. He is a member of vigilante group but he was claiming that he belonged to Amotekun.
“The friends who were at the scene took him to the a hospital in Lagere, Ile-Ife for treatment.
