Roots Club of Ijesaland Installs Yemi Oguntominiyi as her 13th President...Launches N250m for Ilesa General Hospital's accident and emergency centre




 




The Roots Club of Ijesaland has installed Engr. Oluyemi Oguntominiyi as its new President to pilot the affairs of the Club for the next two years.


Root Yemi Oguntominiyi was installed as the new President of the Club following the expiration of the tenure of his predecessor, Root Samson Ataiyero making him the 13th President of the Club since inception.




The investiture and induction of new members also witnessed the launching of N250 Million for the construction and equipping of accident and emergency centre at the General Hospital, Ilesa, Osun State.




Held inside large auditorium of the Zenababs Halfmoon Resort, Ilo-Ayegunle, Ilesa, on Saturday 9th of July, 2022, the investiture, induction of new members and the N250 Million launching ceremony attracted the who-is-who in Ijesaland and different parts of the country.





The event had His Excellency, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, Osun State Governor, who was represented by the state's Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Bamisayemi as Special Guest of Honour. The Royal Guest of Honour was His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LLD, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland. The Guest Lecturer was Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa and the Chief Launcher Engr. Mayne David-West who also doubled as the Chairman of the Occasion was represented by Prof. Martins.

Speaking in his acceptance speech shortly after his installation, Root Yemi Oguntominiyi hit the ground running. "I wish to reiterate that our Club came into existence out of the conscious collective desire to protect and advance our interest as Ijesas and by so doing stimulate participation in the civic affairs of our community here in Ijesaland in the first instance..... I therefore wish on behalf of 13th Executive Council to pledge absolute loyalty and dedication to the Club.... Our ultimate goal is therefore to lead the Roots Club to more successes, growth and accomplishment through consistent display of fairness, competence and tactfulness.




" In the light of the foregoing and in order to march our words , our great Club under my watch has decided to embark on a laudable project which we know will transcend our tenure, but we are confident will leave a legacy for all of us as citizens of Ijesaland in particular, State of Osun and the nation as a whole.


"The basic understanding and our collective desire to grant our community and her inhabitants unhindered access to medical facilities, informed the decision of our Club to launch a N250 million Accident and Emergency Centre, fully furnished and equipped with up-to-date modern equipment and facilities at the State General Hospital, Ilesa." He said.


Also, in his valedictory address, the immediate past President, Root (Prince) Samson Ataiyero gave a brief highlights of his stewardship.




In his remarks at the occasion, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Aromolaran said he is delighted at the coming together of Ijesa sons and daughters to contribute to her development as he showed his appreciation to all that contributed generously to the launching  N250 million Ilesa General Hospital's Accident and Emergency Centre project.
