Oyetola pledges support for Iwude Ijesa Festival




 


The Osun State government has pledged its continuous full support for the celebration of the Iwude Ijesa Cultural Festival.




The Osun Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Hon. Engr. Lekan Badmus who doubles as Supervising Commissioner for Ministry of Home Affairs, Culture and Tourism made the affirmation on behalf of the State government while hosting the members of the 2022 Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee led by Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, the Committee's Vice Chairman on Tuesday.  


Hon Engr. Lekan Badmus who received the planning committee's letter to the government on behalf of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola promised that this administration will support the development and promotion of the annual festival to enhance its tourism potentials and sustainability.




ln his presentation of the 2022 edition's programs of events, Chief Igbaroola  commended the State Government’s support for the festival as he thanked Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for helping to enhance and improve the celebration of the annual festival which has consequently helped to boost the local economy by attracting new audiences and generating more economic activity in the community.





Present at the meeting with the commissioner were Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ajayi, Special Adviser to the State Governor on Tourism and Mrs. Solabomi Akinsola, Mr Sunday Oladipo Mrs. Kehinde Akinyemi who are representatives of the ministry on the planning committee.



Chief Igbaroola was accompanied by Mr. Wale Idowu, Mr. Oladimeji Lasore, Chief Soji Fasipe and Mr. Sunday Owoborode


The grande finale of the Iwude Ijesa 2022 edition is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 24th December.
