Osun APC Condemns Attack Of Members By PDP Thugs In Isolo-Ijesa, Tasks Police, DSS To Arrest Suspects

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the resumption of violent attacks on its members and supporters by the Peoples Democratic Party's(PDP) political hoodlums who have invaded Isolo-Ijesa Muroko Ward in the Atakumosa-West Local Government Council Area of the state.

It was gathered that three daredevil notorious PDP thugs, Dare Ashaolu, Biodun Ashaolu and Ebenezer Ashaolu who are all brothers from Ashaolu's house at  Isolo-Ijesa, have turned the domain to an attack field where they inflicted injuries on the members of the opposition APC unhindered under the excuse that the PDP is at the helm of affairs in the state.

Information has it that these brutish and daredevil Ashaolu brothers who are fond of terrorising their victims with guns, cutlasses, cudgels and juju have chased all the APC members and supporters away from Isolo-Ijesa and Ila-Ijesa which are popular communities in the Mukoro Ward of the Atakumosa-West Local Government Council Area.

It was gathered that the Ashaolu thugs had threatened to kill whoever attempted to vote for any of the APC candidates in the last series of elections in the constituency and grievously wounded Samson Michael, Rafiu Alawe, Baba Habeeb and one other person who were members of the APC in order to showcase their brutality.

An eyewitness in the community who craved for anonymity for fear of being attacked disclosed that the latest victim of the violence by the deadly Ashaolu brothers was an APC member, Adedeji Adewale, who was accosted on the way to his farm, beaten up and macheted severally on his body shortly after the inauguration of the state House of assembly.

The eyewitness also disclosed that as if the violence inflicted on the innocent Adewale was not enough, the Ashaolu thugs swiftly went for the hot palm oil being used to roast fish by a woman by the road side at Muroko Ward and poured it on their victim.

It was also gathered that another APC member, Sikiru Amuda, was also matcheted by the trio while Biodun Ashaolu has been searching the nooks and crannies of the constituency in order to attack or kill any members of the opposition he sights.

Information has it that it was the police at Okebode-Osu who rushed the victims to an undisclosed hospital at Owode, Osogbo, the state capital.

According to the Osun State Acting Chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo today, the attack by the Ashaolu brothers who are identified PDP political thugs was wicked, callous and primitive.

Lawal tasked the state commissioner of Police to take charge and do the needful in this regard by way of prompt arrest, investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

He tasked the state commissioner of Police and the state Director of the State Security (DSS) to come to the aid of the members and supporters of the APC in the Atakumosa-West Local Government Council Area of the state in particular and the state in general.

Lawal stated that the APC under his leadership in the state would not watch helplessly why the APC members and supporters are being needlessly attacked by some undesirable elements who are hiding under the cover of the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the state.

The Osun State Acting APC chairman explained that it would be improper for the statutory security agencies in the state to watch the PDP thugs to kill the APC members and supporters in the same manner that about 30 of them were killed before the last series of elections in the state.
