The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the state contingent of the party over the peaceful and exemplary conduct of the team during the successful inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Kashim Shettima as the President and Vice-President of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday.
According to the state Acting Chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, in Abuja today, the conduct of the members and supporters of the APC in and outside the Eagle Square, the venue of the inauguration was worthy of commendation.
Lawal stated that both at the venues of the inauguration and the subsequent receptions, the APC members generally and especially those from Osun State radiated the ethos of peaceful and disciplined omoluabi that they are.
He enjoined the Osun State APC members to keep the flag flying as worthy ambassadors of the state of Omoluabi.
The state acting chairman explained that he would remain eternally grateful to the members of the APC from Osun State for their verifiable imitable disposition during the historic presidential inauguration.
Lawal stated further that the peaceful conduct of the inauguration of President Tinubu and Vice-President Shettima was a pointer to the fact that God Almighty is interested in the affairs of the APC at all levels in this country.
He appealed to the members and supporters of the APC in Osun State not to be weighed down by the current plight of the party in the state with reference to the recent past series of the violently-rigged elections in the state.
Lawal observed that he could not fathom how some political gladiators who are now flaunting questionable victory acquired through the killings of fellow human beings would be feeling comfortable with their acquired mandates through political banditry.
The state APC acting chairman prayed for the repose of the souls of about 30 members of the party killed by the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) hoodlums before the series of the elections among who no fewer than seventeen of them were from Ijesaland areas of the state.
Lawal hinted that he was also at peace with the success stories recorded during the celebration of the inauguration of President Tinubu and Shettima which was held by the party members and supporters on Monday in all the nine federal constituencies in the state.
The state APC acting chairman was also appreciative of the sponsorship of the trips of some members and leaders of the APC to the presidential inauguration in Abuja by the immediate-past state Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.
In Lawal's words: "May Allah continue to enlarge the coast of Alhaji Oyetola and answer his supplications in the overall interest of the people of Osun State in particular and the entire nation in general".
