Asiwaju of Ijesaland, friends, associates, royal fathers Hold Congratulatory Reception For Adelabu (PHOTOS & VIDEO CLIPS)

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu was recently hosted to a homecoming reception at Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State after his nomination by President Bola Tinubu, confirmation by the Senate and being sworn in as a minister in Abuja.


The congratulatory reception which was co-hosted by the Asiwaju of Ijesaland and President of Ibadan Business School, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi; Sir Obafemi Oye; and Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja in honour of the honourable minister was held at the premises of Ibadan Business School, Bodija, Ibadan on Saturday 16th September, 2023.

Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi set the ball rolling by sharing with the well attended audience why the reception was organized for the Special Guest of Honour, Chief Adebayo Adelabu when he eloquently recognised the appointment of Chief Adelabu by President Bola Tinubu as part of his Administration's Team to salvage the nation from the paucity of poor management and leadership that has prevented the country from attaining her desired and deserved greatness over the years.

Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi went further to enumerate various antecedents and pedigree of Chief Adebayo Adelabu in previous positions of responsibility and how his excellent performances in these past offices have recommended him for a strategic and challenging position in President Tinubu's Administration.

He closed his remarks by admonishing the Honourable Minister to put on his winning cap to change for better the unpleasant narratives in the power sector. 


Speaking to journalists during the occasion Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi expressed his optimism that the new Minister will succeed in his new assignment based on his expertise and previous achievements as he wish him a successful tenure in office.

Elegboro of Ijebu-jesa, Oba (Engr) Moses Olufemi Agunsoye and Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Dokun Abolarin who jointly spoke on behalf of Royalties present enjoined the Honourable Minister to invoke the political prowess of his late Grandfather, Chief Adegoke Adelabu a.k.a Penkelemesi who died 65 years ago to change for better the herculean task in Power Ministry.

The duo of Maye Olubadan, High Chief Lekan Alabi and Ajiroba of Ibadanland, Prof Soji Adejumo who spoke on behalf of Olubadan of Ibadanland delivered the Royal message of goodwill from the Kabiyesi to the Honourable Minister and further encouraged him to do Ibadan proud by employing his midas touch on the power Industry and pleasantly surprise Nigerians by being the one to restore uninterrupted power supply in the country.

There were several other goodwill messages from other distinguished guests all hammering on the need to make living and doing business in Nigeria a dream that would come to pass with the provision of uninterrupted power supply to Nigeria under the able leadership of the Honourable Minister.

In his response, the Honourable Minister Chief Adebayo Adelabu significantly and convincingly raised the hopes of Nigerians by sharing with the August audience various activities and policy directions of his ministry towards making the promise of President Tinubu on provision of uninterrupted power supply to Nigerians a reality. 


The Minister who arrived Nigeria at 5pm of the same day of reception drove straight to Ibadan to honour this reception being the first of such reception requests from numerous well-wishers. 


He shared with his audience the fire incident that led to the collapse of the National Grid on Thursday 14th September 2023 the efforts of his team to control and restore the National Grid within hours of its collapse.

He went further to elaborate on the steps being taken by his ministry in addressing the challenges within the power chain right from Generation to Transmission and to Distribution with a view to clinically address all issues for sustainable solutions and results to the satisfaction of Nigerians in due course. 


At the occasion the Minister announced the plan of Ministry of Power's  Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to solar-power 25 universities, teaching hospitals, and some underserved rural areas across the country, removing them from the national grid so as to find a solution to the persisting power challenge in the country as well as provide a reliable and sustainable source of electricity, ensuring uninterrupted operations in these critical facilities.


He however pleaded with Nigerians to continue to cooperate and support President Tinubu's Administration whose goal is to genuinely transform lives of all Nigerians for better.

To entertain this la creme de la creme of men and women of influence in Ibadan was the World Famous Juju Maestro, the Living Legend, Chief Commander Ebenezer Remilekun Olasupo Obey-Fabiyi (MFR) who betrayed his age with his non-stop performance and dishing out of best of miliki rhythms in keeping guests on their feet throughout the event.
