Yesterday, the Osun APC Media Clusters, through their representatives, paid a courtesy visit to the leader of the party in the State, HE. Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
The group, led by Elder Adebayo Adedeji, was in Iragbiji the country home of the immediate past governor of Osun to congratulate him on his recent appointment as Minister of the Federal Republic and to also appreciate him for his support and commitment to the group over-time.
The group lauded the minister for his landmark achievement while holding sway as the number one citizen of the State, describing his four-year stint as the best Osun has had in recent times.
According to one of the leaders of the group, David Olufunsho Fagbohungbe, "it is an open secret that the people of Osun now miss the good work and peaceful atmosphere the State enjoyed between 2018-2022 when you were the Governor. At the moment, the state has become a hub of insecurity, while those at the helms of affairs of the State run the economy with reckless abandon."
In his remark, a former Senior Special Assistant to Oyetola on Students' Affairs and Social Mobilisation, Comrade Kehinde Ayantuji, lauded the former governor for the leadership role he played when a member of the group, Olusegun Fawale, was hounded on trumped up charges by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
Oyetola, in his reaction, thanked the group for its commitment and loyalty to the true principles and ethos of Omoluabi for which the progressive party stands.
He equally appreciated them for their engagement in the media space, disclosing that their actions had kept the people of the state abreast of good legacies, policies and programmes of his administration.
He further gave the assurance of his continued commitment to the unity and cohesiveness of the party with a comprehensive repositioning that would allow for greater youth participation and inclusiveness.
He stated that the future of the party belongs to the youth likewise its chances to win future elections depends on the strength in number of youths that the party manages.
"For this reason, it is important, therefore, we design a robust strategy to better engage the youths, decently position and empower them to drive the party, " the minister submitted.
Earlier, the former Chief Press Secretary to Mr Oyetola, who ushered in the group members to the palatial home of the former governor, Alhaji Ismail Omipidan, extolled the minister for his devotion and deep interest in the activities of the media group.
He reassured the minister the group's unalloyed loyalty and support.
Some leaders and members of the group in attendance at the meeting also include Kazeem Aro Balogun, Olufunke Olutunmibi, Taoheed Ademola, Popoola Opeyemi Utility, Yakub Atanda, Ayodeji Fajoye, Oluwatosin Agbonmagbe, Collins Abiodun Ogundare, Henry Afolabi Adedapo, Rukayat Adeyanju, Abdullah Arije, Bolarinwa Wasiu, Tiamiyu Omoluabi, Segun Fawale and other notable members of the clusters.
