PROUDLY IJESA: Kakakioodua Focuses on Femi Jegede's Women Reform NGO in Nigeria...A manifestation to Social Action

In Nigeria there are many cultural, social, and economic barriers faced by women across the country, these include (but not limited to), lack of financial empowerment, poverty, access to quality education, gender inequality, domestic violence, sexual abuse, gender discrimination in employment, religious discrimination, physical abuse and rape.

Considering the unacknowledged role most women play in development and the need to ensure equal opportunities for the enhancement of sustainable human development, Obafemi Richard Jegede's Women Reform Organization is playing a pivotal role.

The Women Reform Organization has been involved in improving the lives of women by sowing the seeds of social entrepreneurship, by training hundreds of women in various income generation skills, forming self-help groups and connecting them to various schemes.

The Ijesa-born Obafemi Richard Jegede is the president and founder, Women Reform Organization, an NGO that focuses on women empowerment, skill acquisition, gender equality, business networking workshops, entrepreneurship and celebration of girl child.

He is an advocate for women and youth empowerment.

He is the convener, WRO Walk Against RAPE, a walk organized to sensitize the public and protest against the upsurge of rape cases.

Together with the staff of Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the NGO once embarked on 'Walk Against Rape' from Ikeja (under bridge) through Awolowo Way and terminated at the Lagos State House of Assembly where he submitted a position paper.

Femi is a Pan-African, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur with seven years leadership experience, with ability to create wealth and inspire those around him.

He is the CEO Curvaceous Lifestyle Nigeria and South Africa, an event company focused on brand activation and event management. He activated Gaga Fame (a perfume brand owned by the popular artist called Lady Gaga). Always ON wifi at Sandton Mall, Johannesburg, South Africa.

He is also the founder and executive producer Miss Curvaceous South Africa, a reality show that instills self confidence and esteem in African women.

Background

The natural passion for the development of African Women to actualise their dreams and revamp their natural abilities and potentials gave birth to the Women Reform Organisation: a passion which the initiator has pursued vigorously for over a decade while in South Africa.

As a serial entrepreneur deeply committed to lifting women and youth from poverty, his strong leadership, team management, and strategic mindset drive innovation.

As the leader of the Women Reform Organization, he oversee all aspects of the organization. Working closely with the Board of Directors, he crafts and executes strategic plans aligned with the NGO'smission. He also mentors the executive team, ensuring their growth and success.

Externally, he serves as the organization's ambassador, cultivating meaningful relationships with stakeholders and partners.

However, the Nigerian project commenced in 2017, rather small but vigorously providing financial and material supports to the less-privleged women, the vulnerable and the victims of gender-baset domestic abuses.

Incorporated with the Nigeian Corporate Affairs Commission, C.A.C in 2019, the Organization is also registared with the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs.
