Focus on Daniel Adewole Awe Medical Center Outreach Tagged Heart Health Campaign,






On Tuesday, 2nd July, 2024, Daniel Adewole Awe Medical Center (DAAMC) held an outreach tagged "Heart Health Campaign," targeting cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol. The event took place within the hospital's campus off Orita-Iloko in Iléṣà, Ọ̀ṣun State.


The day was marked by free health risk assessments and medical consultations for all attendees, and heavily discounted cardiovascular investigations such as ECG (electroencephalography), lipid profile, kidney function test, among many others.


There were also elaborate and interactive health education sessions facilitated by Mary Care Foundation, led by the CEO, Mrs Mary Bifarin, a cardiothoracic specialist nurse and immediate past Director of Nursing Service at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital.

The attendees expressed satisfaction in the outreach program, now armed with the knowledge to transform their lifestyle habits and improve their health-seeking behaviour. Many on the day took advantage of the opportunity of the wide range of investigations to check their health and prevent complications of their chronic conditions.

DAAMC, in various ways, has demonstrated its commitment to improving the health of the people of Ìjẹ̀ṣàland and the environs, by educating the public and by reaching out with affordable high-quality healthcare. This, its 3rd outreach since inception, marks the beginning of its second year of practice. On Tuesday's event, Mrs Olayinka Awẹ́, a DAAMC board member, said to an audience of attendees: "we desire that people who think they are healthy, come to the hospital to routinely check their wellness well before they might have a health crisis."
