The Ijesa Sports Club one of the topmost social Clubs in Ijesaland has honoured three of its dedicated members by elevating them to the position of trustees in an event marked by funfair on Friday.
The occasion having HRM Oba Cornelius Omisade Agboluaje, Olaja of Ibodi as the Chairman and moderated by Otunba Jare Ayo Martins, General Manager Unique FM and Freedom TV that took place at the Late Oladejo Fasuyi Court within the Club premises, attracted trustees of the Club, members, family, friends and well wishers of the inductees.
Prince Sir Adebola Garus-Alaka, Sir Gbenga Babalola-Ojo and Prince Yinusa Ayodeji Odidi were the three newly appointed members of the board of trustees.
New members inducted in to the Club included Mr. Ajayi Folorunso, Oba Olalekan Ogunmakin Adebanji, Engr. Ibidapo Ibiyemi, Prince Daisi Adewumi Ogunmokun and Mr. Folorunso Yomi Adeyinfa aka Aworo.
While, Mr. Oluwatayo Ojo, Chief Jadesola Adepoju and Hon. Awoniyi were presented with awards for their meritorious contributions to the development and progress of the club.
The President of the Club, Otunba (Dr.) Kayode Arimoro in his welcome address said the occasion was not only to celebrate the new trustees but also to honour their exceptional contributions to the Club in various capacities.
"Their dedication and service have paved the way for this significant recognition, which received unanimous approval at our recent Extraordinary General Meeting.
"As we embark on this new chapter in our Club's journey, I would like to remind each us of the values that we hold dear at the ljesa Sports Club: love, peace and tranquility, It is incumbent upon every honourable member of this great club, especially our newly inaugurated trustees, to embody these principles in our daily interactions, both within the Club and in our broader community.
"As ambassadors of ljesa a Sports Club, let us all strive to promote these values, fostering an environment where camaraderie and mutual respect flourish.
The ljesa Sports Club has long been a beacon of sporting excellence and a hub for relaxation and cultural exchange. We have the capacity to make it an even better place, a sanctuary for health, fitness, and enjoyable recreation. I urge all members to actively engage in all initiatives that promote our Club's vision." Otunba Arimoro said
Ijesa Sports Club was established in 1977 as ljesa Division Amateur Football Association. The name was changed to Ijesa Sports Club on the 6th June, 1979. The Club is a non-religious organization providing avenue for indoor and outdoor sporting activities and relaxation for the people with diverse ethnic, social, economic and professional background.

The Club is affiliated to notable Clubs like: Osogbo Sports Club; lfe Recreation Club; Irish Club, Iwo! Abeokuta Sports Club; Lokoja Club, Oyo; Markurdi Clubs; Plateau and Jos Premier Club among others.
ljesa Sports Club has participated and won laurels in major competitions across the Country. The Club is waxing stronger on daily basis.
