OWA AJIMOKO III FUMES OVER PROLIFERATION OF FAKE GOODS IN LOCAL MARKETS ACROSS IJESALAND

Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup Ajimoko III is furious over the proliferation of counterfeit goods in Ijesaland's local marketplaces, says  selling subpar items has become  a taboo in his domain.

Oba Adesuyi Haastrup vented his hanger when members of Indigbo in Ijesaland and Osun State led by Eze Wilfred Ozor paid him a visit at the Ogboni’s court where he is observing a 90 day seclusion .

The paramount ruler of Ijesaland stated that all of the electrical goods his contractor bought from the Igbo dealers in Ilesa were of poor quality, making his initial interaction with them unimpressive.

After conducting  the members of Indigbo round all the rooms where the appliances were used , Oba Adesuyi Haastrup gave the traders a year ultimatum to mop up their sales to rid his kingdom of counterfeit.

He mentioned that in order to address any grievances from his people over the quality of the products, he would form a committee dedicated to quality assurance.

"I am chosen by my people because I have a duty to protect them from counterfeiting. If you cooperate with me, I will support your business. All I ask is that you import high-quality materials. The extension box, sockets, blender, and other items that my staff bought in Ilesa have already packed up," he stated.

The Eze Indigbo of Ijesaland and Osun State , HRH Wilfred Ozo congratulated the Owa Obokun and pledged the loyalty of the Igbo community in Osun state to the king.

On the product quality and standard , Eze Ozor promised that necessary action will be taken to address the issue in the interest of the entire people of Ijesaland as ordered by His Imperial Majesty.
