The Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has intervened in the regulation of gravel and sand prices in Ilesa and promised to assist the dealers with heavy-duty earthen machines to ease their operation.
Oba Adesuyi Haastrup made this known when members of the Association of Tippers Owners in Ilesa paid him a visit at Ipebi.
The Owa Obokun hinged his plan to woo more sons and daughters of Ijesaland and foreign investors to develop the land in terms of infrastructure.
He identified the high cost of gravel, sand, and hardcores as one of the factors driving investors away from Ilesa, which used to be the commercial hub of the old western region.
He charged the members of the association to be moderate in their charges, pending the time he completes his 90 days of seclusion as part of his coronation rite.
On the encroached quarry at Oorita Merin, Alakowe via Ife Road, in Atakumosa West local government by some people, as reported by members of the association, Oba Haastrup assured the people that the matter would be resolved amicably when he came out of Ipebi.
