Owamiran briefs Owa Ajimoko III on Esa-Oke/Ido Ajegunle chieftaincy dispute






The Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, says he will work with the state government and its panel of inquiry into the immediate and remote causes of the mayhem at Esa Oke as he sues for peace in the ancient town.


Oba Adesuyi Haastrup stated this when the Owamiran, Adeyemi Adediran of Esa Oke, came to brief him about the land and chieftaincy incident that disrupted the peace of the town, leaving about twenty-five people, including police, injured. 

 


'The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has appealed to the people of Esa-Oke and Ido Ajegunle in Oriade Local Government to eschew violence and embrace dialogue to resolve the lingering crisis between the two towns.


Describing the incident as disturbing and uncivil, the paramount ruler of Ijesaland urged the warring parties to sheathe their swords and allow dialogue to prevent further destruction of life and property in the sleeping towns. 


He charged the Osun state police  command to provide tight security for lives of property of the people while the investigation is ongoing


Earlier the Owamiran said though there was no loss of life many people including the same police youths .


"I narrowly escaped into the bush when the  perpetrators of the dastardly act set my 2023 Land Cruiser Jeep ablaze " he said 


Ido Ajegunle is a border village between Ekiti and Osun State.
