The Owa Obokun Adimula, Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Ajimoko III has called on Ijesa entrepreneurs to collaborate so that the entire Ijesa people will enjoy their God-given endowment while unlocking it's mineral wealth for the benefit of all.

Owa Ajimoko III made the call in his royal address on Wednesday at a the unveiling of a video documentary on the state of mining in Ijesaland by the Ijesaland Mineral Resources Development Forum IMRDF, another milestone advocacy efforts that calls for action for all stakeholders --- government, traditional institutions, mining operators, civil society organisations and citizens....to collaborate in promoting mining culture rooted in responsibility, transparency and sustainability.

Owa Ajimoko III who revealed that mining has been an area of interest to him in the past ten years and that by the grace of God his enterprise has seven licences he has invested into.

"Gold mining requires heavy investment and needs coalition of investors. First the investment must be local before getting international investors. There is a lot of studies that must be supported by some international analysts like from Canada, South Africa and Australia. This is very expensive but once we start with our local consultants and let them guide, truly Ijesa has a lot of potentials. Precisely, I can say Ijesa gold is 24 carats.  Serious mining involves heavy investment and collaborative efforts before our studies and analysis can be accepted internationally" Owa Ajimoko III said

Speaking further he remarked that a lot of illegal miners have messed up many areas but at the same time these are surface miners.

"I am pleased with our elites here in Ijesaland, you have done very well in terms of taking Ijesa forward in all ways. Please permit me to single out for recognition and appreciation Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi for his laudable achievements in the development of Ijesaland. Though he has his shortcoming as a human being and which I have personally discussed with him. However he is a strong force to be reckoned with in the development of Ijesaland and which we must duly appreciate him for."

"Basically, if we are able to harness our resources under a good and friendly atmosphere, I believe we can get there with the collaboration of our well-to-do and business minded people scattered all over the world today. We must cooperate until we get international recognition and once we crossed that line, the sky is the limit. I believe that one or two companies found by our formidable people in Ijesaland is enough.

"I'm also aware that we have security issues. That there are people that have formed themselves into cabals that terrorize our people in gold rich areas. I want to tell you that by the grace of God, Ijesa people are not cowards. We are putting things in place to be able to resist and ward off any invaders so that we can have free hands to enjoy our God given endowment." Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup noted further

The event which also had the indefatigable  Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Asiwaju of Ijesaland and the Senator representing Osun East senatorial zone Sen. Adenigba Fadahunsi among other dignitaries in attendance documents the achievements of the IMRDF at reporting the level of degredation at the.concerned mining areas scattered all over Ijesaland communities such as Ifewara, Ilase, Ido-Oko, Iregun to mention a few.

Mr. Ezekiel Olasupo Shadiya, IMRDF Chairman earlier in his welcome address remarked that the purpose of the gathering is "to reposition mining as a catalyst for economic growth in Ijesaland.

"Mining has the potential to transform lives; create jobs, attract investments and strengthen communities. But to fully realize these benefits, we must update outdated policies, including a review of the 2007 Mining Act, to empower state governments and local authorities and ensure fair revenue sharing and environmental accountability.

"We aim to make Ijesaland the premier destination for mining investments. To do so, we must foster a business-friendly environment by streamlining regulations, improving infrastructure, and ensuring security and stability. This will open the door to value added industries such as mineral processing and manufacturing; diversifying our economy and deepening the benefits to our people."

Also in his keynote address, the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Gbenga Okunlola exposed on "Maximizing the values in mining for the development of Ijesaland."
