Some residents of Ilerin-Ijesa community of Ilesa East local government on Thursday lamented nine months of power outage in the community that has grounded businesses that rely on electricity and made them vulnerable to attacks from bandits who operate under the cover of darkness.
According to the Chairman of Ilerin community, Evangelist Adebayo Tajudeen, the community, Ilerin town, which is now a suburb of Ilesa metropolis has been without electricity since January this year.
"We have been able to restore the old transformer through internal efforts spearheaded by the Onilerin. The major obstacle now is the six million Naira required for the installation of the newly refurbished transmitter.
"In conjunction with the Onilerin-in-Council, we are appealing to people of goodwill to assist with donation of money in order to enjoy electricity supply and the benefits that go with it in the town." The community Chairman said
