‎PHOTONEWS: Ijesa Youth Forum Inaugurates New Exco ‎





‎The Ijesa Youth Forum has inaugurated new executives to pilot the affairs of the group for another three years.


‎The decision to elect and inaugurate new executive for IYF was due to the expiration of the tenure of the former executive led by Engr. Olufemi Micheal.

‎The 11-member new Executives Committee members sworn in by Hon. Richard Oladotun Agbaje MC Thomas, Electoral Committee's Chairman, before an enthusiastic youths filled-to-capacity  inside the Aromolaran Civic Centre on Saturday, 1st of October, 2025 include Prince Adebusuyi Tobilola Adeleye (President), Mrs. Aderonke Gbadamosi Oginni (Vice-president), Mr. Fagbowore Medayese (General Secretary), Mr. Ajewole Abraham Adedamola (Assistant General Secretary), Mr. Adeyemi Sunday Ajibade (Treasurer), Mr. Joshua Abiodun Aniya (Financial Secretary), Mr. Opeyemi Joshua Adebowale (P.R.O & Spokesperson), Ms. Bepo Joy Adebimpe (P.R.O & Spokesperson II), Mr. Ajilore Victor Oluwatimilehin (Director of Mobilization), Ms. Okunlola Salamat Omolara (Director of Women Affairs & Social Director) and Mr. Aderinwale Ebenezer Okikiade (Director of Welfare & Sports).




‎Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Chairman of the occasion, told new executives to lead with humility, serve with passion, govern with transparency, and walk with accountability. "Let every project be traceable, every fund accounted for, every decision explainable, and every outcome measurable. If you do this with diligence and integrity, you will not only earn the respect of ljesaland but also secure its prosperous future."


‎He reiterated "the youths of any society are its greatest assets, their energy, creativity, and resilience are the engines that drive progress. For ljesaland, a land richly endowed with heritage, intellect, and.enterprise, the role of our youths cannot be overstated. It is upon their shoulders that the future of‎ our community rests, and it is through their actions that our collective aspirations will either rise or‎ falter".





‎While Performing the swearing in ceremony Mr. Fashipe Opeyemi Isaac, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees urged the youth executive to work together in attracting development to Ijesaland.


‎In his charge, he urged the new President work hands in hands with other members of the Exco according to the constitution.




‎The new President, Prince Adebusuyi Tobilola Adeleye in his inauguration speech promised that his administration will pursue a structured blueprint built around Education and Knowledge; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Culture and Civic Responsibility; Diaspora Engagement and Partnership.


‎"As I assume office, I pledge to serve with integrity, fairness and courage. I do not claim to have all the answers, but I promise to listen... I will strive to ensure that the Ijesa Youth Forum does not stand still but moves forward with vision and purpose". He said




‎Earlier the Chairman of the Inauguration Committee, Mr. Tijani Usman in his speech acknowledged every member of the Inauguration Committee and extended his appreciation to the outgoing NEC for entrusting me with the responsibility.


‎"To the newly inaugurated executives, I admonish you to prioritize the interests of ljesa Youth, both at home‎ and in the diaspora. The future of this forum lies in your hands, and your success will depend on how well‎ you work together and how sincerely you engage with our stakeholders. I urge you to build bridges, foster unity, and pursue uncommon goals that will elevate the name and cause of ljesa Youth to greater heights." Tijani Usman remarked



‎In a Keynote Address delivered by Dr. James Oladiipo Folorunso with the theme "With One Heart, We Make History", he reflected on Ijesaland rich history of unity that resulted in the Egbé Atunlúşe Ilé ljeşà, in the 1930s, coming together to‎ establish the first premier grammar school in ljesaland- the present Ilesa Grammar School. "This was not the effort of one family or one individual, but a‎ collective push for enlightenment. Subsequently, we saw the establishment of Obokun High School and its eventual merger into ljesa Comprehensive High‎ School. These were all efforts at unity, working with one purpose, working with‎ one heart, to lay a solid educational foundation for generations to come.


‎Ijesa United Transport and Trading Company (IUTTC) in the 50s and the early 70s the spirit blossomed further "when a dedicated team of Ijesa patriots conceived the ambitious idea of International Breweries, Ilesa.....


‎"Now, we come to you, the vibrant and dynamic youth of ljesaland. This is your‎ moment. The challenge is now back to you. You have the responsibilhy to take up the mantle, and to ensure that we experience another leadership.


‎"As the present crop of leaders ages, we must nave a replacement from your group, ready to take the reins. You are not just the inheritors of our rich history: you are the architects of its next chapter." Dr. Diipo Folorunso advised



‎The Elere of Ere-Ijesa, Oriade local government, Oba Augustine Adenipekun Alowolodu, in his goodwill message advised the executive to work in utmost unity towards achieving a desirable goal and objectives of the Ijesa Development Forum.


Chief Ilesanmi Francis Olaniyi also delivered goodwill message 






‎Also present at the event were Prof. Akanni Akinyemi, Deputy VC research, innovation and development, OAU, Ile-Ife, Oba Amos Adewunmi Ogidiolu; Oniwoye of Iwoye-Ijesa, Oba M. A. Adeyemi, Olowada of Owoda-Ijesa; Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, Prince Adeloye Oluwaseun, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi, member OSHA, Akinbode Oluwaseun, Osun Chairman of NYCN, Chief Mrs Yemisi Falope, representative of Federation of Ijesa Students Union among others.
