The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed deep sorrow over the transition of the revered traditional ruler, late Akire of Ikireland, His Royal Majesty Oba Olatunde Falabi, Lambeloye lll
Oyebamiji condoled the deceased's immediate family, Ikire traditional council, Ikire sons and daughters, and entire Irewole royal family on the passage of the revered traditional ruler.
The revered monarch passed away at the weekend after a brief illness but the news of his death was officially announced on Monday evening by the Irewole Local Government Chairperson, Dr. Esther Okunola.
Oyebamiji, in a statement personally signed described the death of the revered monarch as 'end of an era' and a collosal loss not only to Ikireland and its environs but to Osun State Council of Obas and Nigeria in general.
He recalled the monumental achievements of the late Akire during his reign which he described as worthwhile and unprecedented.
Oyebamiji specifically commiserated with indigenes and residents of the ancient town on the irreplaceable loss.
"I received the news of the death of our revered Kabiyesi - an elder statesman and astute professional, Late Akire of Ikire, Oba Olatunde Falabi, Lambeloye lll, with a rude shock. Oba Falabi was no just a monarch but a symbol and pillar of peace, unity and cohesion. Kabiyesi was indeed a unifier on all fronts and an an epitome of royalty, integrity, character, discipline and dignity. Baba was known for disciplinarian who served his Creator and humanity diligently.
"As the custodian of our culture, tradition, norms and heritage, Oba Falabi's outstanding performance and transformative achievements in his over three decades reign can not be overemphasized. It is on record that Kabiyesi's reign witnessed geometric developments in Ikireland and its environs as his indelible imprints continue to live on. He was a father to all regardless of sociopolitical or economic affiliations which had continued to engender peace, unity, stability, cohesion and tranquility in our land.
"As Baba's indellible legacies continue to live on, he would no doubt be remembered for his innate virtues of selflessness, dedication, commitment and compassion that had successfully taken Ikire to enviable heights in the global map of reckoning.
"On behalf of my family, I condole the immediate family, sons and daughters of Ikire, entire Ikire royal family, Ikire traditional council, residents of the ancient town and members of Osun State Council of Obas on the demise of our father, Akire of Ikireland, and I pray that God Almighty will console and grant every member of the immediate family the fortitude and strength to bear the irreplaceable loss", Oyebamiji condoled.
