‎A strong show of unity and grassroots mobilization marked the All Progressives Congress (APC) Osun East Women Team support meeting held on Wednesday, March 4, at Isokun Roundabout in Ilesa, Osun State.

‎The event, tagged “OSUN 2026: Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) – The Best Man for Governor?”, began with a vibrant road walk that took participants from Isokun to Itakogun, Isona, Ikoti/Igbogi, and back to the roundabout. Women across the senatorial district turned out in large numbers, with many arriving as early as 8:00 a.m., reflecting what organizers described as “impressive mobilization.”

‎The meeting was convened to drum support for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) as the APC flagbearer in the forthcoming August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election.

‎The Osun East Senatorial District comprises Atakunmosa East, Atakunmosa West, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ife South, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Obokun, and Oriade Local Government Areas.

‎In her remarks, the APC Women Leader in Osun State, Alhaja Kudiratu Fakokunde, expressed appreciation to key party leaders at both national and state levels. She extended greetings to President Bola Tinubu and acknowledged the leadership of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, described as the party leader in the state. She also recognized the State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, alongside other party elders and stakeholders across the Ife/Ijesa zone.

‎Fakokunde further commended members of the organizing committee and notable party figures who supported the programme, including Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi, Hon. Sanya Omirin, Hon. Wale Adedoyin, Hon. Femi Oloka, Hon. Ogungbangbe, local government Special Assistants, party chairmen, and women leaders across the zone.

‎Special appreciation was given to the Osun East Women Leader, Hon. Olubunmi Abeke Aluko, for her role in ensuring the success of the event. She also praised the women for their colorful turnout, dedication to their homes, and steadfastness in their respective wards.

‎Reflecting on the party’s internal selection process ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, Fakokunde noted that although many aspirants contested for the ticket, a candidate has now emerged. She urged all party members to close ranks and work collectively to secure victory for the APC.

‎In her words, “Women talk to women, women understand,” calling on all women in the district to intensify grassroots campaigns in support of AMBO and President Bola Tinubu as preparations for 2026 gather momentum.
