Erinmo-Ijesa, Osun State — Celebrations continued in Erinmo-Ijesa as Guinness World Records holder, Miss Abidemi Omopariola, paid a courtesy visit to the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, at his palace on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Miss Omopariola, a Nigerian visual artist from Erinmo-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, recently earned global recognition for setting the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon drawing portrait. She accomplished the feat in Sunderland, United Kingdom, where she drew continuously for 90 hours in the individual category — a record never before attempted.
During her palace visit, the monarch, Michael Odunayo Ajayi, warmly received the young artist alongside members of the Elerinmo-in-Council, religious leaders, and enthusiastic students of Erinmo Ijesa Grammar School who gathered to celebrate her remarkable achievement.
The visit was marked by commendations and expressions of pride from community leaders, who described her accomplishment as a source of inspiration to youths within Erinmo-Ijesa and beyond.
Miss Omopariola’s achievement has placed her hometown and Osun State on the global map, reinforcing the growing reputation of Nigerian creatives on the international stage.
Community members and well-wishers have continued to extend their congratulations to the record-breaking artist for bringing honour to Erinmo-Ijesa, Oriade LGA, and Nigeria at large.
