From Darkness to Opportunity: Agoro Foundation Flags Off Transformative Solar Training as Youth Empowerment Programme Begins

Kakakioodua Online Media Agency today witnessed the official flag-off of the Ademola Isaac Agoro Engineering Empowerment Foundation, a community-driven initiative aimed at equipping young people with practical skills in renewable energy and smart technology.

The empowerment programme, themed “Light Up Your Future,” in conjunction with Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and ASIWAJU Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) kicked off with a strong turnout of about 30 trainees on its opening day, signaling growing interest among youths in the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.

The training, which focuses on free solar installation and maintenance, is scheduled to run from April 20 to April 25, 2026.

Participants will undergo intensive, hands-on sessions designed to provide them with real-world technical knowledge in renewable energy solutions. This will be followed by another round of training on smart energy meter installation, slated for April 27 to May 1, 2026.

Speaking at the event, facilitators emphasized that the programme is structured to be 100 percent practical and comprehensive, ensuring that participants gain not just theoretical understanding but also hands-on experience essential for self-reliance and employability.

The training sessions are being led by the Technical Officer of the programme, Engr. Prof. Adewale Ikotun, alongside other experienced professionals committed to youth development and sustainable energy advancement.

The programme takes place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ademola Isaac Agoro Empowerment Office in Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State. In addition to the free training, participants are also provided with meals, further easing the burden on attendees and encouraging full participation.

Organizers noted that the initiative is part of a broader vision to empower local communities, reduce unemployment, and promote clean energy solutions across the constituency.

With its strong start and impactful focus, the Ademola Isaac Agoro Engineering Empowerment Foundation is poised to make a lasting difference by equipping young people with the skills needed to “light up” not only their future but also their communities.
