The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has received the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, at the historic Ile Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife, where he offered royal prayers and blessings ahead of the forthcoming election.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, visited the monarch alongside his running mate, Kayode Adereti, the Osun State APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, as well as other party leaders and supporters.
Speaking during the visit, Oyebamiji commended the Ooni for his role in promoting Yoruba unity and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the people. He disclosed that the visit was influenced by the advice of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who encouraged him to seek royal blessings before formally launching his campaign, citing the historical and spiritual significance of Ile-Ife.
The APC candidate reiterated his commitment to delivering good governance and promised inclusive development across Osun State if elected.
In his remarks, the Ooni praised Oyebamiji’s humility and respect for traditional institutions, noting that effective leadership requires service, sacrifice, and a commitment to unity. He also urged political stakeholders to shun divisive tendencies and embrace peace and reconciliation.
The monarch, while reaffirming the neutrality of traditional rulers in partisan politics, concluded the visit with special prayers for the candidate, seeking wisdom, guidance, and success in the upcoming governorship election.
