Osun APC Hails LG Executives Over Donation of 300 Motorcycles to Security Agencies

‎The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the reinstated local government council executives for donating 300 motorcycles to security agencies across the state, describing the move as a bold step toward enhancing safety and grassroots security.

‎In a statement issued on April 14, 2026, and signed by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the APC praised the leadership of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Osun, led by Hon. Samuel Idowu Abiodun, for what it called a proactive intervention in addressing security challenges.

‎According to the party, the motorcycles have been distributed across all local government areas, with each council contributing 10 units. The allocation reportedly covers key security agencies, including the police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), as well as local vigilante groups and hunters.

‎The APC described the development as a reflection of effective grassroots governance and a demonstration of the council executives’ commitment to protecting lives and property. It added that the initiative marks a departure from previous practices at the local government level.

‎The party also used the opportunity to question the handling of security matters by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, particularly regarding the use of security votes, while noting that residents have continued to express concerns over safety in the state.

‎It further argued that the performance of the APC-led council executives underscores the party’s capacity to deliver development, even without control of the state government.

‎Reiterating its political stance, the APC expressed optimism that its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, would prioritise security and ensure balanced development if elected in the forthcoming governorship election.

‎The party added that more initiatives to support security agencies and strengthen governance at the grassroots are expected in the coming months.
