A legal practitioner, Abayomi Ojo, has emerged as the consensus candidate for Ilesa West State Constituency ahead of the 2027 Osun State House of Assembly election.
The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of party leader, Gboyega Ajeleti, in Ilesa, marking what leaders described as the first time all stakeholders in the constituency have unanimously agreed on a single candidate.
Following the meeting, a communiqué detailing the outcome was submitted to leaders of the Ijesa South Federal Constituency for further ratification.
Sources at the meeting disclosed that other aspirants who had earlier shown interest in the race included Femi Onigbogi, Bolanle Olomola, Dele Olori, and Nurudeen Giwa.
Party leaders said the consensus decision reflects unity and a shared commitment to strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming election.
