‎APC Campaign Council Accuses Bamidele Salam of Incitement Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

‎The campaign council of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has accused the lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Salam, of engaging in what it described as “politics of incitement” ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in the state.

‎In a statement issued on Saturday by the Co-chairman (Print), Media and Publicity Committee of the AMBO Governorship Election Campaign Council, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the APC campaign team alleged that Salam and members of the Accord Party were making inflammatory comments over the forthcoming election.

‎The council claimed that Governor Ademola Adeleke and his political camp were already unsettled by the growing popularity of the APC candidate, insisting that the governor had lost public support due to what it described as poor governance and underdevelopment in the state.

‎According to the statement, the APC accused the Adeleke administration of failing to deliver meaningful progress to the people of Osun State despite being in office for almost four years.

‎The campaign council further alleged that Salam was attempting to defend what it termed the “perpetuation of ineffective leadership” in the state for personal political interests, adding that his repeated criticisms of the APC would not earn him any political advantage.

‎The APC campaign organisation described Oyebamiji as a competent, educated and resourceful candidate with a robust manifesto capable of repositioning Osun State, while accusing Governor Adeleke of lacking focus and seriousness toward governance.

‎The statement also warned against threats capable of disrupting the peace of the state if the election outcome does not favour a particular candidate, stressing that Osun State would remain peaceful and stable regardless of the result of the election.

‎Drawing references from previous administrations in the state, the APC campaign council noted that former governors including Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola all left office without any breakdown of law and order.

‎The council maintained that the people of Osun State had already rejected the ruling party and expressed confidence that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji would emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship poll.

‎The statement was signed by Mogaji Kola Olabisi on behalf of the AMBO Governorship Election Campaign Council in Osogbo.
