The Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association has announced preparations for its 2026 National Executive Committee election and Annual General Meeting (AGM), with the association adopting an electronic voting system for the exercise.
According to the 2026 National Exco Electoral Committee, the final list of candidates for the forthcoming election has been released ahead of the voting scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
For the position of National President, Dr. George Adigun Adewoye of the 1968 set was initially slated to contest against Dr. Wale Bolorunduro of the 1984 set, but he has since withdrawn from the race, leaving Dr. Wale Bolorunduro as the sole candidate for the position.
In the race for National Vice President, Olu Adewale Anjoorin of the 1994 set will contest alongside Engr. Ezekiel Funso Komolafe of the 1969 set.
Dr. Michael Kayode Dada emerged unopposed for the position of National Vice President (Diaspora), while Dr. Abiodun Ogunniyi of the 1994 set is unopposed for the office of National General Secretary.
Also returned unopposed are Otunla Omolabake Tejumola of the 1997 set as National Assistant General Secretary; Suara Rafiu Akanni of the 2007 set as National Financial Secretary; Atoki Jacob Oladapo of the 1996 set as National Treasurer; Jacob Idowu Awolusi of the 1984 set as National Publicity and Mobilisations Secretary; Babatunde Emmanuel Oladapo of the 1989 set as National Welfare Officer; and Bukola Oluwatosin Falomo of the 1999 set as National Auditor.
The Electoral Committee disclosed that the association has fully adopted an e-voting system to enable members cast their votes seamlessly from their mobile phones and other digital devices.
According to the election guidelines, registered voters are expected to receive their unique voter identification details, passwords, and official voting links via SMS, WhatsApp, or email on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, ahead of the election day.
Voting will commence at 8:00 GMT and close at midnight on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The committee stated that voters will only be allowed to vote once, while real-time election results will be accessible throughout the process.
The committee further explained that voters would be guided through the process via an integrated chat assistant on the voting portal, allowing members to review candidate profiles, make selections, confirm votes, and receive final voting receipts after submission.
Meanwhile, the association also announced that its Annual General Meeting will hold on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the premises of Ilesa Grammar School.
