The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, has congratulated the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty Owa Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, on his 78th birthday.
In a birthday message, Oba Ajayi described the milestone as a celebration of an illustrious life marked by wisdom, dignity, service and commitment to the culture and heritage of the Ijesa people.
The Elerinmo described the Owa as a father figure to the traditional institution and a respected custodian of Ijesa heritage.
He said the Owa’s position on the throne represents a link between the history of the Ijesa people and the hopes of future generations.
Elerinmo Commends Owa’s Leadership
Oba Ajayi also spoke about the good relationship between him and the Owa, noting the fatherly advice, wisdom and encouragement he has received from the monarch.
He expressed appreciation for the support and goodwill the Owa continues to show to traditional rulers and people across Ijesaland.
According to him, the strength of a people depends not only on their history but also on their ability to preserve their values while preparing for the future.
He therefore commended Owa Adesuyi Haastrup for his efforts in upholding the dignity of the Owa Obokun institution and the cultural identity of Ijesaland.

The Elerinmo said the Owa’s 78th birthday also provides an opportunity for the people to appreciate his experience, wisdom and contribution to the traditional affairs of Ijesaland.
