APC Has 13 Million Members, Better Positioned to Win 2027 Elections – Yilwatda

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the party is better prepared than other political parties to win the 2027 general elections.

Yilwatda said the APC had about 13 million registered members and a strong political structure across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

He made this known in Abuja while receiving a pre-election fact-finding team from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The team was led by former Vice-President of Sierra Leone, Victor Foh.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Abimbola Tooki, the APC chairman said the party was about three times bigger than the next largest political party in the country.

He explained that the APC had strong structures from the ward level to local governments, states and the national level. These structures include elected and appointed party officials.

Yilwatda also pointed to the party's control of 31 out of 36 states, 88 out of 109 Senate seats and 208 out of 360 seats in the House of Representatives as signs of its political strength.

He said the party's large membership and nationwide network gave it a strong advantage in reaching voters across the country.

However, the APC chairman stressed that the party would not use its political strength to weaken opposition parties or prevent other parties from taking part in the democratic process.
