Ilesa North East LCDA Renovates And Put into Use the Okesa Primary Health Centre at Obanla Compound

The Okesa Health Centre project was conceived in 2005-2006 under PDP regime when Hon. Akin. Akinborode was the counselor and Hon. Makinwa a was the Chairman of then Ilesa East LG but the project was abandoned and considered as a failed project.

The State of Osun Government under Governor Gboyega Oyetola is resolute to building healthy citizens that would contribute productively to the socio-economic development of the state.

As part of efforts to meet the critical health needs of the people of the grassroots, the Federal Government recently identified the efforts of Osun governor, Gboyega Oyetola and confirmed that Osun State will, in the next nine months, benefit from a special intervention on health care services.

This intervention is to target one primary health care centre, per ward. With this in mind the counselor representing Ilesa East (LCDA) ward 1, Hon.Mrs. Funmilola Ayoola who also doubles as the Vice Chairman of the council saw the need to put in place the Primary Health Centre of her ward. She therefore approached the Chairman, Hon. Oladipo Adeniyi (a.k.a. Oluyi Blow) and his Parliament to quickly rehabilitate and put into use the Okesa Health Centre.

The event of the official handing over of the Health Centre to the community took place on Wednesday 22nd May, 2019 in the presence of Chief M. O. Ogedengbe the Obanla of Ijesaland, who provided the land on which the Health Centre was built.

In his keynote address at while commissioning Okesa Health Centre, the chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Olaniyi Oladipo advised people of the ward, the old and young to get use to regular body exercise like walking, jogging and playing games. He also donated bedsheets to all Primary Health Centres of Ilesa East LCDA.

Other people that witnessed the event included representatives of Hon. Idowu Korede, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, Hon. Idowu Falade community chiefs,  health workers, carrier officers, and some APC leaders and supporters including the Chairman of the party (APC). Hon. Ayo Ogunyemi and the Secretary Hon. Ishola Ariyo, Ward Chairman   Mr Ojo Busayo Isaac,  aka Olorukometa Chief Aro of  Okesa and Chief  Ayeyemi of Obokun Gabriel Olatunji Oloomi
