The State of Osun House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye has lauded the political maturity and the leadership qualify of Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, that represented the Ijesa South Federal Constituency at the 7th and 8th National Assembly from 2011 to 2019.
While speaking at a reception organized by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress of Ijesa zone to welcome back Hon. Famurewa on Sunday 28th July, 2019 at the Ajoke Event Centre, the Osun Speaker thanked God that Famurewa made a success of his representation at the NASS. He described Famurewa as a man of uncommon resolute. He attributed his position today as the Speaker, of Osun 7th Assembly to the result of a leading role played by Hon Famurewa to bring together the leaders and elites of Ijesaland which he identified as happening for the first time in Ijesa political history. "That Ijesa leaders and elites all made a univocal decision is attributed to Hon. Famurewa's a leading role". He said.
Also speaking at the reception, the Ijesa zone APC leader and a leading member of Agba Osun, Elder Kunle Odeyemi, commended Hon. Famurewa for his display of loyalty to the party and dedication to its assignment.
Hon. Ajibola Famurewa in his response thanked God for leading him through the 8-year national assignment. He recounted how twelve House of Representatives members of the 8th Assembly could not live to see the end of the term. He therefore considered himself to be favoured by God as many risks were taken and many accidents were averted.
He also advised those holding political offices to do things with the fear of God and love of humanity while noting that it is impossible to satisfy everyone.
He announced the coming of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), which is one of his numerous interventions to the development of Ijesaland which will be inaugurated in Ilesa on Thursday August 1st, 2019.
