The burial service for late Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the second daughter of Afeniere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti held today, July 22, 2019 at St David's Anglican Cathedral Church Ijomu, Akure, Ondo State.
Late Funke Olakunrin aged 58 was shot and killed by masked gunmen in a kidnap attempt between Kajola and Ore along Ondo-Ore Road when travelling back to Lagos after visiting her aged father.
The funeral service was presided over by the Bishop of Akure Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rev. Simeon Borokini and others.
Her funeral was attended by family, loyal friends, Christ School Ado-Ekiti old students, and many political bigwigs.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN; his Counterparts from Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti and Oyo, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko and other dignitaries were all in attendance.
The political bigwigs had earlier paid a condolence visit on Pa R. F. Fashoranti. The State of Osun Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict O. Alabi signed the condolence register on behalf of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
