In support of the State of Osun initiative to assist in the provision of electricity access to unserved and under-served households in the communities, the Ilesa East Local Council administration under the chairmanship of Hon. Akeem Olowoopejobori has given out a sum of N1,180,000 (One million and one hundred and eighty thousand Naira) to two communities.
The two communities that benefited from this largesse are the Oke-Ibukun community of Ward 9 that got a some of N380,000 and the Oke-Iro community of Ward 10 that got a sum of N800,000.
In a similar vein, the Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye gave the Oke-Ibukun community a donation of N350,000.
The two communities have lamented that the electricity company has been lackadaisical about connecting and energising the transformers acquired by the communities causing persistent blackout in the neighbourhood.
The older transformers have been overloaded due to their limited capacity resulting in fluctuating low voltage.
