Reducing COVID-19 Impact on Agriculture: BFK urges Ijesaland farmers to complement Osun government's efforts

FARMERS in Ijesaland, the state 's food basket, have been urged to work hard to make use the most of the good rains received in the area recently.

The lawmaker , representing  Atakunmosa West and Atakunmosa East State Constituency in the Osun Assembly, Hon Festus Babatunde Komolafe (BFK) made this known in a chat with Uniq FM 103.1 ARA Station, Ilesa, news.

Hon komolafe said for the nation at large to overcome the impending food shortage, occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, farmers must be encouraged to double land cultivation.

He said farmers, and individuals in the country should compliment efforts made by govermnent , particulaly Osun State government, towards preventing food insecurity during the post COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, with the rains received in most parts of the country, farmers should now work hard to ensure they get good harvests.

He commended the people of Atakunmosa for spearheading most of the farming related work, urging them to do more.

Hon Festus Babatunde Komolafe also urged farmers , both crops and livestock farmers, not to be discouraged by the present situation, occasioned by the global health challenge - Covid-19.
