Akande Empowers Constituents, Trains Youths, Women in Tailoring, Hairdressing and Batik Making






The lawmaker representing Olorunda State Constituency at the State of Osun House of Assembly who is also the Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Moshood Kunle Akande,  has empowered 26 youths of his constituency.




Items distributed to the beneficiaries who graduated in Fashion Designing, Hairdressing and Batik Making at the ceremony which took place at the Adenle Prymary School, Ayetoro, Osogbo on Thursday 10th December, 2020 included sewing machines, hair dryers and batik making equipments.





The Governor of the State of Osun, His Excellency, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola was represented at the graduation cum empowerment ceremony by his Deputy, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi while the Speaker of the Osun 7th Assembly was also represented by his Deputy, Hon. Femi Popoola (Boripe State Constituency), the OSHA Majority Leader, Hon Morufu Olanrewaju (Irewole State Constituency) was also in attendance.




Mr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi while speaking at the event commended the lawmaker for identifying and coming up with the empowerment scheme, which he said would help alleviate the suffering of the less privileged people of Olorunda State Constituency as he urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials.


Also speaking, the donor, Hon. Kunle Akande said the gesture was also a fulfillment of the campaign promises he made as he pleaded with those who have not been able to benefit from the empowerment scheme to be patient while promising that the second phase of the empowerment scheme coming up in the first quarter of 2021 would take care of many more.




One of those who got sewing machines, Miss Oyeyemi IfeOluwa commended the lawmaker for his magnanimity in affecting the lives of the people.     


Present at the event were All Progressives Congress (APC) party leaders and representatives from all the political wards of the constituency.
