Filling the Vacant Tool of Alatorin of Atorin-Ijesa, Community Leaders Throw Weight Behind the Choice Candidate of Atakumosa East LG Chieftaincy Committee







Some aggrieved persons from Atorin community of Atakumosa East Central LCDA have expressed their dissatisfaction over what they alleged as self-installation of a traditional ruler of the community.


Some traditional chiefs, women and youths of Atorin-Ijesa community trouped out to welcome a fact finding security personnels that came visiting on Wednesday 10th March, 2021. They described the act as unacceptable and a misrepresentation of the overall will of the people.


Speaking to journalists, Mr. Ezekiel Ojo the representative of the youths explained that their position is to let the government know that the Atorin community has disassociated itself from the purported coronation of a certain Prince Omololu Afilaka as the traditional ruler of the town in a ceremony that was finalized at Ilesa Penny Derrick Hotel on Friday 5th March, 2021.





The community leaders also presented a copy of the certified approval letter from the Atakumosa East Chieftaincy Committee headed by the Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, HRM, Oba S. A. Popoola endorsing Olufemi Famurewa as the Oba-elect taking effect from Friday 5th March 2021, the same day that some mischief makers hurriedly went into a kangaroo installation of Afilaka in a bid to deliberately create trouble in the peaceful town.

In their separate reactions, Chief Abiodun Owoeye, the Odofin of Atorin and Chief Mrs. Rachel Omotayo the Loobirin of Atorin affirmed that the community would not welcome the self-installalled Afilaka to the town this Friday that he has slated to come to the town for the traditional "ije" rights that signified seventh day of coronation but the community will patiently wait for the proper coronation of Femi Famurewa the choice of the people and the Local Government's Chieftaincy Committee.


The former Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Busuyi Makanjuola was at hand to appeal to the aggrieved persons to count on the assurance of the government of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to protect life and property of the people.

Also present were Hon. Bunmi Obeisun, former Chairman of Oriade Local Government and Hon. Akinyele Akíntola a political leader from Ijesa South Federal Constituency.
