On Monday 27th December, 2021 the 12th edition of the yearly breakfast fellowship set aside by the family of Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa to appreciate the blessings and the protection enjoyed in the year that is ending, share the words of God with their guests and prepare with prayers for the new year 2022 that is coming was held.
Pastor Olumide Daramola delivering the sermon at the occasion urged guests to always thank God. "What do you say at the end of the tunnel?.. We say thank you Jesus... What is the value of life?.... It's valueless. What should I do with life... Thank God with it. You can't thank God enough. God gives us life that is priceless we need to serve Him with it.... What are you doing to ensure that the work of God is going on? It doesn't matter your limitations.., Help peopie with life..... When life gives you extra, share with those who don't have." He said
A minute's silence was observed for late Ajayi Idowu a.k.a. Dodonzo, a regular participant who normally took charge of the supply of canopy, tables and chairs.
One other important highlight of the annual breakfast get-together is the host family giving gifts to regular participants and friends of the family that attained the age of 60 in the year that is running out and the children of the family and those of the friends of the achieving landmarks.
For celebrating their 60th birthday in year 2021 Chief Mrs Yemisi Ariyibi, Mrs Funmilayo Akin-Moses and Barr Dosu Babatunde received gifts while SAN Wole Iyamu received gift for his appointment as the Attorney General of Edo State.
Children of the family and of friends of the family that received gifts for graduating during the year are Adedamola Okunmadewa who graduated with a Masters degree in Environmental and Landscape Design, Doyin Mohammed in Pharmacy. Dr Opeyemi Akintimehin with a PHD from the University of Ibadan and Dr. Kemi Ogungbangbe also for bagging a PHD from the University of Lagos.
Prof. Kolawole Kazeem was mentioned for successfully completing his tenure as the Provost of the College of Education, Ilesa.
Concluding, prayers were said for Nigeria, Osun State, Ijesaland and families of participants before all the guests were treated to a sumptuous breakfast.
The breakfast fellowship hosted yearly by Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa at his Omi Eran residence that dated back to 2008 normally have in attendance the new generation Ijesa elites. Some of the dignitaries that attended this 2021 edition included Chief Akinwande Akinola Sawe of Ilesa, Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Oba Dr. Adetayo Haastrup, the Lumobi of Imobi-Ijesa, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa and wife Mrs. Bolaji Famurewa.
Also in attendance were Prof. Kolawole Kazeem, Chief Bosun Falore Propietors of Mind Builders Lagos, Mr. Dosu Gidigbi, Mr. Seyi Ogundipe, Mrs. Kofo Omole, Barr. Dosu Babatunde, Oluwole, Iyamu (SAN) and family just to mention a few.
