PICTORIAL: Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi becomes Balogun Ijo of Omofe Cathedral, Ilesa







The first Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi has been installed as the “Balogun Ijo” of the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Omofe, Anglican communion, Diocese of Ilesa South West. 




The church was almost filled to the brim by 10.00am on Saturday 29th of April, 2023, when the Chief host, The Rt. Rev’d Samuel Olukunle Egbebunmi, the Diocesan of Ilesa South West Diocese. ushered in other Bishops, ministers and the choir into the spacious Omofe Cathedral, venue of the epoch making event.




During his sermon at the church service The Rt. Rev’d Samuel Olukunle Egbebunmi appreciated Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi for his social interventions in Ijesaland and emphasized that his call as the Balogun Ijo is not for mere social symbol but rather a call for more services that he must henceforth be more above board in everything he did as he must always strive to be like Jesus Christ in all the actions he is involved as he expressed his optimism that the fourth Balogun Ijo has all it takes to lead the church to desirable and admirable status because of his experiences, commitment and zealous passion for the work of God.







Other officiating ministers included Most Rt. Revd. Abiodun Olaoye, Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, Rt. Revd. (Prof) G. L. Lasebikan,Retd. Archbishop of Ondo Archdiocese, Most Revd. Amos A. Akindeko, Archbishop of Ilesa Methodist Archdiocese, Rt. Revd. Joseph Olusola, Bishop of Ijesa South Diocese, Rt. Revd. Titus Olayinka, Bishop of Ogbomosho Diocese, Rt. Revd. Isaac Oluyamo, Bishop of Ijesa North Diocese, Very Revd. Enitan Oludare Olajide, Provost, Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity, Omofe and Very Revd. Iyiola Fadugba, Provost, Cathedral Church of St. John, Iloro, Ilesa.







The church service was attended by dignitaries and top personalities from all walks of life.

The Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, HIM, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran and his Oloris, Ijesaland traditional rulers, prominent personalities in education, business politics, civil service and all areas of human endeavors, representatives of Societies, Clubs and other prominent Ijesa sons and daughters graced the gathering.


  



The reception ceremony was held at Zenabab Half Moon Resorts, Ijebujesa road, Ilo-Ijesa where Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey and his group thrilled the large gathering of guests with his brand of music while assorted meals and drinks, both foreign and local, were sumptuously served.





At the reception, the Ilaa-Ijesa in Council led by Alaa of Ilaa-Ijesa conferred the honorary title of Baba Oba and Yet Oba of Ilaa-Ijesa on both Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi and wife, Yeye-Asiwaju Olabisi Fasuyi.
