The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated members of the party and the entire citizens of the state for making it through to the New Year despite the laissez faire attitude of Governor Ademola Adeleke to governance in the state.
The state chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in his New Year message through a statement issued by the party's Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, today stated that the party identified with the people of the state over what they are passing through as the misgovernance effects of Governor Adeleke.
Lawal explained that the APC was abreast of the fact that the government in the state is being run by the siblings of the governor on account of his incompetence .
Lawal also stated that the conduct of Adeleke and his co-travellers in the government is enough to draw a conclusion that the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) government has been working hard to sabotage the efforts and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at alleviating the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on the people of the state.
Specifically, he accused Adeleke of devilish refusal to judiciously appropriate the Federal Government interventions like N4.5 billion NG Cares grant, N9billion fuel subsidy palliative, numerous statutory grants, monthly allocations to the state and local government councils, amounting to over N200billion, for the good of the people which is making the citizenry to have a wrong impression that President Tinubu is the architect of their lingering suffering.
In the words of Lawal: "Osun State is in shambles under the administration of Governor Adeleke as his approach to governance has exposed him as a misfit for such exalted office of a governor.
Lawal appealed to the progressive-loving people of the state to accept their plight of the moment as the APC is not unaware of the fact that it was a man who fraudulently harvested their governorship votes during the last election but it is a woman who never stood for any election that is now running the government for Adeleke to the disappointment of the right-thinking members of the society.
He charged the people of the state to continue to co-operate and sustain their faith with the administration of President Tinubu who has been working tirelessly to put smiles on the faces of the people irrespective of political leanings.
Lawal also enjoined the people of the state to celebrate the New Year festival with moderation and remember to extend a hand of fellowship to the less-privileged members in the society.
