Prince Biodun Lufadeju, composer, Of the Ijesa anthem and his band on Friday at Ogboni of Ilesa quarters, Ereja , Ilesa Osun State, where His Imperial Majesty Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III is observing the statutory 90-day seclusion (Ipebi), preceding his official coronation, presented the anthem to the admiration of the refered monarch.
Speaking at the event, Owa Ajimoko III expressed his deep and sincere appreciation to Biodun Lufadeju, the composer and all that contributed to the success of the Ijesa anthem project for their good will.
He said further that the the photo containing the lyrics of the anthem presented to him by the composer will adorn the palace with the group photography he will take with all the members of the band at a time they all assemble as he recognized their commitments to Ijesa development and patriotism.
In his presentation Prince Biodun Lufadeju said that he has put together a competition for school students to motivate them to master the lyrics of the anthem as he asked for the permission of the monarch to name the winners cup as Ajimoko III Ijesa Anthem competition cup.
“The message in the anthem is to educate, inspire and motivate youths and generality of Ijesa people at home and abroad to know their identity as virtuous, hardworking and responsible people upholding the "Omoluabi' ethos; we believe that the students who will benefit from the competition will be inspired to also contribute to Ijesaland history,’’ he said.
According to him, the objective is to re-awaken the consciousness of youths, especially students, in aspiring to be great and useful in the society.
The highlights of the event also featured the appreciation of Alagba Wale Idowu, former Director General of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) who stood with the composer and the band through thick and thin.
