Eid-el-Fitr: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Embrace Patriotism, Unity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, calling for renewed patriotism and commitment to national unity.

In a statement released by the State House and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged Muslim faithful to uphold the core values of Ramadan beyond the holy month.

Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is celebrated globally by Muslims after a period of fasting, reflection, and devotion.

President Tinubu emphasised the importance of sustaining the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness, and compassion, noting that these values are critical to national development, especially in challenging times.

“We have a lot to draw from the noble lessons of Ramadan, especially at a time like this. We must continue to abide by the virtues of piety, selflessness, perseverance, kindness and compassion beyond this period,” the President stated.

He also encouraged Muslims to extend acts of charity and kindness to the less privileged, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, as a demonstration of unity and shared humanity.

The President further called on Muslim leaders to use the festive period to offer prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity in the country.

The message comes as millions of Muslims in Nigeria join others worldwide to celebrate the festival, marking the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
