President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed optimism that Nigeria’s economy is on the path to recovery, stating that his administration’s reforms are beginning to produce positive results despite prevailing global challenges.
In a message to Nigerians to mark his 74th birthday on Sunday, the President appreciated citizens for their continued support, while reflecting on the progress and difficulties encountered since the inception of his administration.
Tinubu noted that the sacrifices made by Nigerians in the course of implementing economic reforms are beginning to yield visible gains.
“As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we’ve faced since we initiated our reforms. I’m glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel, despite the temporary setback caused by ongoing Middle East crisis,” he said.
The President emphasized that the progress recorded so far is a collective achievement, crediting Nigerians for their resilience and cooperation.
“The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team, or the government. We achieved the gains together,” he added.
Tinubu also expressed gratitude for the goodwill messages and prayers he received from across the country, describing the support as encouraging.
He specifically acknowledged the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their tributes and unwavering support.
