Egbe Yeye Gbobaluyi Adimula Ijesaland has donated 130 school uniforms to students of Owa Agunlejika High School, Muroko, Ilesa, Osun State, as part of its commitment to education and community development.
The donation, carried out on May 5, 2026, aligns with the directive of the Iwude Ijesa Planning Committee, which mandates all registered societies (Legbelegbe) participating in the annual Ijesa Unity Carnival to undertake community-focused projects ahead of the festival.
The initiative was executed under the leadership of the Planning Committee, led by Chief Afolabi Igbaroola and Alagba Wale Idowu, who have consistently advocated impactful contributions to Ijesa communities.
Representing the Chairman of Iwude Ijesa, the Director of Club Services Affairs, Mr. Bunmi Oladele, alongside the Deputy Director, Oladimeji Lasore, commended Egbe Yeye Gbobaluyi for setting the pace in community service and philanthropy.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the General Secretary, Mrs. Abidemi Komolafe, described the donation as a reflection of the society’s commitment to compassion, unity, and service to humanity. She emphasized that investment in education remains vital to sustainable community development and disclosed plans by the society to renovate a block of classrooms in the school before the end of the year.
In his remarks, the Principal of the school, Oba Oluyemi Falode, expressed appreciation to the association for the gesture and encouraged the beneficiary students to emulate such acts of kindness in the future, urging them not to forget their roots in Ijesaland.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Parents and Teachers Association, Pastor E. O. Aderotimi, commended the group for its support toward improving the learning environment.
In a show of gratitude, the Senior Girl of the school, Olalekan Precious, thanked members of Egbe Yeye Gbobaluyi for their generosity and support.
Egbe Yeye Gbobaluyi Adimula Ijesaland, led by Yeye Egbe Yemi Olukemi Gbangbalasa, is one of the registered societies actively participating in the Ijesa Unity Carnival—an annual cultural celebration that promotes unity, heritage, and community development. The Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, serves as the Patron (Baba Egbe) of the society.
The event also featured an address delivered on behalf of the leadership by Mrs. Folake Opesetan (née Ogedengbe).
