The Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association has successfully concluded its 2026 National Executive Committee election, with members across different sets participating through a newly adopted electronic voting system.

The election, held ahead of the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), marked a significant shift in the association’s electoral process as members voted seamlessly using mobile phones and other digital devices.

For the position of National President, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro of the 1984 set emerged as President-elect after securing 322 votes. His emergence followed the withdrawal of Dr. George Adigun Adewoye of the 1968 set from the presidential race before the election.

In the keenly contested race for National Vice President, Olu Adewale recorded a decisive victory with 294 votes to defeat Engr. Ezekiel Funso Komolafe, who polled 77 votes.

Other elected officers include Dr. Michael Kayode Dada, who secured 303 votes to emerge as National Vice President (Diaspora), while Dr. Abiodun Ogunniyi polled 331 votes to become the National General Secretary-elect.

Otunla Omolabake Tejumola was elected National Assistant General Secretary with 308 votes, while Suara Rafiu Akanni secured 312 votes to emerge as National Financial Secretary-elect.

Also elected were Atoki Jacob Oladapo, who garnered 322 votes as National Treasurer-elect; Jacob Idowu Awolusi, who polled 321 votes as National Publicity and Mobilisation Secretary-elect; and Babatunde Emmanuel Oladapo, who secured 326 votes to emerge as National Welfare Officer-elect.

Bukola Oluwatosin Falomo also emerged as National Auditor-elect after polling 327 votes.

Members of the association have since congratulated the newly elected executives, particularly the National President-elect, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, expressing optimism that his leadership will further strengthen the unity, development, and progress of the association.

Observers described the successful conduct of the e-voting exercise as a major milestone for the association, noting that the process enhanced participation, transparency, and credibility in the election.
