‎The ancient town of Erinmo-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State is set to host a colourful display of royalty, culture and tradition as the 2026 Agidanyin Founder’s Day Festival holds on Saturday, November 7, at the Elerinmo’s Palace.

‎
‎The event, scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., will feature a rich programme of activities, including the Agidanyin Meat Feast, Miss Erinmo Beauty Pageant, Arowotawaya Recognition Awards, Annual Iwure and Royal Blessings, as well as other traditional and cultural displays.

‎
‎The festival is also expected to attract an impressive gathering of royal fathers, with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Olufon of Ifon, the Elerin of Erin-Ile, the Elerin of Erin-Osun, the Olojudo of Ido-Osun, the Alawo of Awo, the Alademure of Ibokun and the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa among the traditional rulers expected at the celebration.

‎
‎Other eminent personalities, government officials, community leaders, cultural enthusiasts and sons and daughters of Erinmo-Ijesa from within Nigeria and the diaspora are also expected to attend.

‎
‎The expected presence of the royal fathers will add colour and prestige to the festival while promoting friendship among traditional institutions and neighbouring communities.

‎
‎The Agidanyin Founder’s Day Festival is an important cultural event dedicated to celebrating the history, ancestry and founding of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom.

‎
‎The festival honours Agidanyinmosa, the warrior son of Obalufon Alayemore, who is recognised in the kingdom's history as the first king of Erinmo.

‎
‎Beyond the celebration, the festival provides an opportunity for the people to remember their ancestors, preserve their customs and pass their history and cultural values on to younger generations.

‎
‎This year's programme has been designed to combine culture, entertainment, recognition of outstanding contributions and prayers for the kingdom.

‎
‎The Agidanyin Meat Feast will promote hospitality, traditional food and togetherness among residents and visitors.

‎
‎The Miss Erinmo Beauty Pageant will provide a platform to celebrate the beauty, intelligence, confidence and cultural knowledge of young women from the community.

‎
‎The Arowotawaya Recognition Awards will honour individuals who have made important contributions to Erinmo-Ijesa and society through their achievements and service.

‎
‎The Annual Iwure and Royal Blessings will feature prayers for peace, unity, progress and prosperity in Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom.

‎
‎Other cultural activities will also showcase the rich traditions and customs that make the kingdom unique.

‎
‎The 2026 celebration is expected to bring together indigenes of Erinmo-Ijesa, especially those living outside the town, to reconnect with their roots and renew their support for community development.

‎
‎It will also provide an opportunity to discuss issues relating to cultural preservation, youth development, community empowerment and the future growth of the kingdom.

‎
‎As Erinmo-Ijesa prepares to welcome its royal guests and other visitors, the festival promises to be a memorable gathering of royal heritage, ancestral pride, cultural identity and community unity.

‎
‎The 2026 Agidanyin Founder’s Day Festival is therefore more than an annual cultural event. It is a celebration of the history and identity of Erinmo-Ijesa and a reminder of the responsibility of present generations to preserve their heritage for those yet unborn.
